Lawn & Gardening Tips : How to Fertilize Flowers

Posted on

I'm Bill Elzey with Showplace Lawns.

Let'stalk about fertilizing flowering plants.

At Showplace Lawns we like to use an organicfertilizer in a liquid form which we find that that works the best and the quickest.

The fertilizer that we use mixes at a ratio of 1 ounce per gallon of water.

The best timeto fertilize is in the early morning from about first light to about 10 or 10:30 andthen again in the evening probably from 6:30 until dark.

What that is happening is thestemato parts of the plants are open and able to take in more of what you are putting onthe plants so that is why those two types are ideal.

We use the basic hose in sprayer, screws right on to the end of the hose, put our mix in this container and just spray theplant.

You want to spray each flowering plant heavy enough or long enough until you see the leavesare dripping with the moisture.

Doing this about once a month during the growing seasonwill definitely help your plants to put out fruits and flower like you would like to seethem.
