You probably ran into people saying that Meta Keywords don't do anything.

Meta keywords are still used by search engines!

A client of mine wanted me to search engine optimize his site and one of the keywords of focus [lowest focus] was a typo. He wanted organic traffic from people that misspelled one of his main keywords.

Since none of his content included the missed keyword I just popped it into the keywords and wished it well. A month later after reviewing his traffic, he is getting traffic from searches of the misspelled word. The correct spelling keyword isn't doing as well at the moment though. LOL!

MSN loves meta keywords. If you dont have them you will never rank high in their search engine. I found out the hard way.

There was a period of time when LIVE (MSN) was sending me more traffic to http://wapages.net than Google. That was crazy...

I currently still use them at Trilogy of Error. Does kind of help when it comes to Google search.

I'm glad to see somebody spread the word about keywords. I think people have gotten so confused, due to the many changes that have occurred over the years especially with regards to Google's algorithms. I believe every blogger should live by the phrase, "content is king ! Really, that's what it boils down to.
